History

Stone Manor Hotel has always been part of the local area and it is also known by many people far and wide who have visited over the years.

The original Stone Manor sat majestically amid the estate grounds for many years, dating back to the Domesday Book, sadly this magnificent building was destroyed by fire. In 1926, James Culcheth Hill rebuilt Stone Manor as his private dwelling with many of the timber structures being re-sited from the last English "Man-of-War" fighting sail ship, the H.M.S Arethusa, to go in to battle. H.M.S Arethusa was built in 1849 at a cost of £97,000, a sum that would probably equate to around £5,000,000 today.

In the late 1960's Stone Manor became a private members' club and was the first premises in the borough to have a swimming pool, which brought with it many opportunities.

In June 1970 Stone Manor became a hotel and opened its doors to the public. Charles Winfred Dunn, the previous owner of Stone Manor, bought the hotel from Franco D'anielo in 1984 and since then has developed and extended the country house hotel into its modern form. In early 2016 the hotel underwent a £2.5 million refurbishment programme which refurbished all the public rooms and 47 bedrooms, creating the beautiful and imposing property it is today.

I attended the Bell Ringers event at Kidderminster last weekend with two of my friends... We had such a great time! Please extend my thanks to Nathanial, Quintin, Meredith, Rosa, Olive, Pam for making this such a good weekend. The actors were amazing. It was lovely talking to some of them afterwards, especially Nathaniel and Quintin who had endured our rather intense questioning and provided so much amusement
Just a quick note to say thank you all very much for such a great weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed it and thought the acting and plot was brilliant. We have told a few people and will pass on details of your company, as we would thoroughly recommend you.
