Wellingford Amateur Dramatic Society are holding their first ever awards evening. In decades past, the group has received many accolades and several members have gone on to become professional actors. However, recent years have seen something of a decline. Whilst the group’s heyday may have passed, it is hoped that this evening will help rejuvenate this once-proud organisation. There are some who welcome this attempt to revive WADS’s fortunes, but there are many who believe that this is a divisive and patronising waste of time. With controversy regarding the nature of the event competing with the hullabaloo over who will win awards, it appears that the last thing this will be is a quiet night out... |
