In the heart of Arundel's conservation area is the Norfolk Arms Hotel, a former Georgian coaching inn, completed in 1780. Unspoilt, the hotel combines the period features of the Georgian era with the requirements of today's visitors.
Within the hotel are log fires, bars serving real ales and for entertaining on a greater scale, the magnificent mirrored ballroom. Most of our rooms, which vary in size and character, are situated in the main house, whilst ground floor rooms are available in our courtyard.
The car park is to rear of the hotel and offers both open and covered parking. |

The car park is to rear of the hotel and offers both open and covered parking. The Norfolk Arms hotel has a wealth of history and heritage. It's a charming Georgian Coaching Inn, built over 200 years ago by the 10th Duke of Norfolk. It soon became the local meeting place and a popular resting spot for weary travellers. To this day the Arundel Society for the Prosecution of Thieves and Felons still hold their annual Dinner at this Arundel Hotel - a tradition which dates back to the 18th century.
The Norfolk Arms hotel is set under the battlements of Arundel Castle and has an atmosphere of traditional permanence, the kind that prevails in all the gracious buildings that make up Britain's colourful heritage. The Arun Restaurant offers an extensive a la carte menu together with an excellent and imaginative wine list. Alternatively the two very pleasant bars serve local ales and a mouth-watering selection of light meals and snacks. Spend a relaxing afternoon in the comfortable lounge with a Forestdale cream tea or perhaps a drink from the bar. The facilities available in each bedroom include:
* Free WiFi * Flat screen TV * Direct dial telephone * Hairdryer * Tea and coffee making facilities
The hotel has 34 individually decorated en-suite bedrooms including standard and feature rooms, both in the main hotel and in the Courtyard. The following attractions are all nearby:
Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust - Situated a short walk from the Norfolk Arms Hotel the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust is an ideal conservation site to visit.
Arundel Castle - The seat of The Dukes of Norfolk and set in 40 acres of sweeping grounds and gardens Arundel Castle has been open to visitors seasonally for nearly 200 years.
Fishbourne Roman Palace - Fishbourne Roman Palace was constructed around AD75 but its remains lay hidden for hundreds of years before being discovered by accident in 1960 during the digging of a water-main trench. Opened to the public in 1968.
Tangmere Military Aviation Museum - 80 years of aviation history at this former Battle of Britain station.
Shopping - Arundel has a rich variety of thriving, independent retailers. The town has become famous for not only its high class antique shops but also for its dealers selling specialist items including an expedition outfitters who claim to have the best choice of walking shoes in Northern Europe! Hello this box should be movable. It has lots of information to force an overflow and hopefully this will generate a scrollbar. A second paragraph will be necessary to force this to happen as the first paragraph is not long enough on its own.
